What is NeoLifeTea?
NeoLifeTea is an instant tea-and-herb drink in sticks; each stick makes two servings. It blends green, black and white teas (Camellia sinensis) with standardised extracts of Panax ginseng, Codonopsis pilosula and Rhodiola rosea, naturally flavoured with lemon and sweetened with fructose and honey. It mixes instantly in hot or cold water and is around 5 kcal a serving.1
Because it is a green-tea product with caffeine, there are important restrictions and warnings — please read the box below before buying. And, as we explain lower down, the teas and herbs in it carry no authorised health claims.
Important — green tea and caffeine warnings (from the pack):
- Not to be consumed by pregnant or breastfeeding women, or by children under 18.
- Do not consume on an empty stomach.
- Do not consume if you are having other products containing green tea on the same day.
- Do not consume 800 mg or more of EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate) per day from all sources.1
- Contains caffeine — 85 mg per serving (1.8 g). Do not exceed 1–2 servings a day.1
What is in a serving
From the UK nutrition information on the pack. A serving is half a stick (1.8 g) in 240 ml of water; the recommended intake is 1 to 2 servings a day.1
| Amount | Per serving (1.8 g) | Per 2 servings (3.6 g) |
|---|---|---|
| Caffeine (from tea) | 85 mg1 | 170 mg1 |
| Tea (Camellia sinensis) | 596 mg1 | 1192 mg1 |
| EGCG (epigallocatechin-3-gallate) | 25.04 mg1 | 50.08 mg1 |
| Panax ginseng | 20 mg1 | 40 mg1 |
| Codonopsis pilosula | 20 mg1 | 40 mg1 |
| Rhodiola rosea | 15 mg1 | 30 mg1 |
Each stick contains two servings. A box of 15 sticks is therefore 30 servings.
What we do not claim
We want to be plain about this. NeoLifeTea carries no authorised health claims in Great Britain. Green, black and white tea, ginseng, codonopsis, rhodiola and green-tea EGCG do not have approved health claims here. So we make none for it. What we can honestly say is what it is: a naturally flavoured tea-and-herb drink, low in calories, that many people simply enjoy hot or cold.
How to make it
Mix half a stick (1.8 g) into 240 ml of hot or cold water. Have 1 to 2 servings a day, and do not exceed that. Because of the caffeine and green tea, do not have it on an empty stomach, avoid it late in the day if caffeine affects your sleep, and do not combine it with other green-tea products the same day.1
Suitability and allergens
NeoLifeTea is gluten-free and has no artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners or preservatives. Two points to note: the lemon flavour carries soy lecithin, so it contains soya; and it is sweetened partly with honey, so it is not vegan (it is suitable for vegetarians). Because of the green tea and caffeine it is strictly for adults 18 and over, and not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you take medication or have a medical condition, check with your GP or pharmacist first.

What to compare when buying a tea supplement
| What to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Caffeine and EGCG per serving | NeoLifeTea has 85 mg caffeine and 25 mg EGCG per serving. Green-tea products carry legal warnings — count EGCG from all sources and keep below 800 mg a day.1 |
| Claims made | Tea, ginseng and rhodiola have no authorised health claims in GB. Be wary of any product implying energy, metabolism or weight benefits from them. |
| Allergens and suitability | This contains soya and honey, so it is not vegan. Check the equivalent on anything you compare it with. |
| Who it is for | Any green-tea-extract product should restrict use to adults and warn in pregnancy, as this one does. Check that the one you compare it with is honest about it. |
| Sugar and calories | NeoLifeTea is about 5 kcal a serving, sweetened with fructose and honey, no artificial sweeteners.1 |
